In Praise of George Saunders

I finally got around to reading George Saunders last month when I dove into his collection of short fiction, Pastoralia. This led to an immediate George Saunders frenzy that bordered on obsession. In the wake of my mania after Pastoralia, I had quickly devoured The Brief and Frightening Reign of Phil, Civilwarland In Bad Decline, and In Persuasion Nation.

I am saving his most recent collection The Tenth of December for later because it makes me happy to know there is a collection of his fiction I haven’t yet read.
