New MU Season

The new Mysterious Universe season is in full swing. If you haven’t listened yet, you should.

If you like fringe science, the supernatural and the strange, all delivered with a nice dose of humor, it is essential listening.

In fact, become an MU Plus subscriber for the extra content. It’s more than the worth the 9 bucks a month. In fact, it’s a bargain. Just saying.

The Secret Bookstore

Watch this spare, stunning and wonderfully moving video. I adore books and was blown away by this piece.

Michael Seidenberg’s unwavering commitment to a noble and somewhat dying institution, the bookstore, is heart wrenchingly beautiful.

I hope I get to visit there one day.

Chamblin: A True Literary Gem

Chamblin Bookmine is so very wonderful. A vast labyrinth of old books, amazing literary finds and great staff. A true literary gem in an age of commodified reading, big chain bookstores and the e-book. Glad you’re here in Jax, Chamblin.

What Jacksonville needs to do is become the center of a new cultural renaissance. No politics, no B.S., just people who give a damn coming together to create the kind of city we want to live in, work in and play in. Spark arts, spark culture, spark creativity. Spark giving back. I’m just saying.

To the as-yet-unborn, to all innocent wisps of undifferentiated nothingness: Watch out for life.

Kurt Vonnegut, Deadeye Dick

Be One Spark

This is very cool. One Spark is a Jacksonville movement that has recently kicked-off. Here’s what they have to say:

One Spark is fostering an environment in Jacksonville to start, build and scale new ideas.

What’s not to love about that?

I just started reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. What a great read about American Myth, the heartland and soul. I love this book and wonder why I hadn’t been reading Gaiman before.

Picnic For Our River

The PB&J team put on a picnic for the St. Johns River Keeper. Even though we got hit pretty hard with rain, the attendance was tremendous and we raised money for a very important Jacksonville organization.

Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and the community for the continued support.

We made this fun little video for PB&J a not-for-profit that I work with here in Jacksonville. Thanks to Ivan, Claire and Tiffany or the collaboration.
